The Metal Hydrides storage system eliminates the safety and regulatory barriers of high-pressure hydrogen tanks, making it ideal for enclosed warehouses and cold chain environments. Fast refuelling minimises downtime compared to battery-electric alternatives, enabling continuous 24/7 operations with lower emissions and a competitive total cost of ownership.
The need was to develop a hydrogen‑powered forklift propulsion unit starting from a commercial fuel cell stack and integrating it with a Metal Hydrides hydrogen storage system.
Dumarey delivered a complete system‑integration package by combining a commercial fuel cell stack with Metal Hydrides hydrogen storage and integrating the full propulsion unit into the forklift. We provided engineering support through Balance‑of‑Plant design tailored to the stack and application needs, while ensuring smooth execution through project coordination and part procurement.
Our team defined the control unit specifications, supported functional operation, and performed operative‑environment testing to validate performance and reliability. Dumarey also analysed all applicable forklift and hydrogen logistics regulations, guiding the customer toward a safe and compliant system ready for deployment.
