Fauglia: Dumarey invests in hydraulic safety – A strategic intervention for the benefit of the local area

Dumarey Flowmotion Technologies has launched a major hydraulic risk mitigation project at its plant in Fauglia (PI), with the aim of protecting the production area from the effects of extreme flooding events, such as those that occurred on 2 November 2023 and 10 September 2017.
The initiative, entirely financed by Dumarey, stems from the company’s desire to ensure operational continuity and site safety, while contributing to the protection of the surrounding area. In order to develop an effective solution, a specialized firm was involved, advanced hydrogeological simulations were carried out and the relevant local authorities – Civil Engineering Department, Province of Pisa and Municipality of Fauglia – were consulted in order to define an intervention plan in compliance with current regulations and environmental requirements.
The project involves the construction of a flood control reservoir on land north of the plant, specifically acquired by Dumarey for this purpose, the installation of new road crossings for water drainage and the upgrading of existing drainage systems. These works will significantly improve rainwater management, reducing the risk of flooding and environmental impact.
