The Group showcase its proprietary active pre-chamber technology for alternative fuels and energy recovery system for Large Bore applications
14th Dessau Gas Engine Conference Participation
Dessau-Roßlau, Germany – May 6–7, 2026 – Dumarey will participate at the 14th Dessau Gas Engine Conference as an exhibitor, strengthening its presence within the large bore engineering community. At the event, the company will present for the first time its offer for the development, integration, control and testing of advanced technologies to face global decarbonization in the large bore sector for propulsion and power generation applications.
Fuel Flexibility and System-Level Engineering
Global decarbonization policies are fundamentally reshaping the large bore engine landscape. The market is rapidly moving toward fuel-flexible and alternative-fuel solutions that preserve asset value while meeting increasingly stringent emissions requirements. Within this evolving scenario, large bore engines remain a critical asset for propulsion and power generation, increasingly transitioning toward fuel-agnostic energy systems. Successfully addressing these challenges requires a system-level engineering approach, in which combustion concepts, aftertreatment solutions, advanced ignition technologies, digital control systems, and energy storage are developed in an integrated manner. Dumarey supports this transformation with dedicated engineering and development services for the alternative fuel large bore market, enabling customers to manage complexity while ensuring regulatory compliance, robust performance, and long-term readiness.
System Solutions for Large Bore Applications
The core of Dumarey’s presence in Dessau is its engineering service offer to support fuel flexibility, performance optimization, and compliance with increasingly stringent emissions regulations. Dumarey provides system development and integration services, with a strong focus on combustion system, aftertreatment and charging systems architecture definition, layout design and virtual performance assessment, engine hardware and sub-system design and virtual validation. This engineering expertise enables Dumarey to effectively serve the large bore engine segment across a wide range of demanding applications.
Alternative fuel system solution
Dumarey will present a demonstrator of proprietary combustion and ignition solutions developed for alternative fuels, that includes the active pre-chamber, that integrates the spark plug and the auxiliary fueling source, and combustion bowl with an optimized shape for performance and efficiency, to meet demanding customer and regulatory requirements while operating with low carbon fuels.
Hybridization and Energy Storage Technologies
Alongside the alternative fuel system solution, Dumarey will also present the 600 Series Flywheel Energy Storage System, a compact flywheel solution delivering 600 kJ of energy storage and designed for over 10 million full charge–discharge cycles. Its long service life and small footprint make it ideal for space-constrained applications with frequent cycling requirements. The system provides reliable energy buffering with minimal maintenance and is particularly suited for off-highway kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) applications, such as trucks and diggers.
Industries and Applications Served
Dumarey serves a wide range of sectors, including Transportation, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Maritime & Harbor, Construction, Agriculture & Off-road, and Heavy-Duty applications, leveraging deep engineering know-how in large bore system development and integration.
Engaging with Industry at the 14th Dessau Gas Engine Conference
Dumarey looks forward to engaging with OEMs, system integrators, and industry stakeholders to demonstrate how its integrated system engineering supported by active pre-chamber solutions and energy storage expertise, can enable the next generation of efficient, fuel-flexible, and low-emission large bore engines.
